I love an advent calendar. Opening something each day with a little treat, a story, or a small gift. Think of this as your Baby Prep Advent. Over the next 12 days, my goal is to act as your virtual doula โ sharing what Iโd tell you if we were sitting together in your living room. And of course, Iโll give you a little gift each day โ the same kinds of printables, recipes, and resources I give my doula clients. Stick around, we'll unwrap (๐) the tools you need so that: โ your baby cries less! โ feeding goes more smoothly! โ everyone gets more sleep! So letโs start with your first gift ๐ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ๐ YOUR DAY 1 GIFT: This is the big-picture roadmap I walk my doula clients through before their babies arrive. If youโre a fellow checklist lover, youโre going to want to print this out! Why my doula clients love this. . .

โข there's things on the list you might not have thought of - like scheduling newborn pictures BEFORE your baby is born ๐ธ โ
โข this gives you a game plan to work through step-by-step. And really what feels better than checking off a check box โ ๐ So CLICK HERE to grab the Prepared for Baby Blueprint ๐ Print it, save it, or screenshot it. You donโt need to do everything at once, this is just about seeing the full picture so nothing sneaks up on you later. ๐ค NEWBORN NUGGET Babies communicate through cues. When you understand those cues, you stop guessing...and you meet your babyโs needs faster. You know when your baby is hungry before theyโre frantic. You meet your babyโs needs faster โ your baby cries less. Preparation makes that possible. ๐๐ผ ONE SMALL THING TO DO TODAY Look at the Blueprint and see if there's anything you've already done and can check off. If not, no worries at all. Over the next 12 days we'll get some of those checked off! Iโll be back tomorrow with Day 2 (and another gift).โ xoxo, Valerie Trumbower, PCD(DONA), CLC Certified Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor P.S. Hi Reader, It's the final day of your Baby Prep Advent ๐ I hope the past 12 days have given you resources that make life with your new baby go more smoothly. That has been my goal ever since I started working as a postpartum doula more than ten years ago. One of the most common questions I'm asked in my instagram DMs is how to find a postpartum doula, so I thought I'd give you a resource to make that easier. (if you're not already following on IG click here) If your first reaction to hiring a...
Welcome to Day 11 of your Baby Prep Advent Reader! As an overnight doula, one of my favorite things to do for brand new parents is make a meal in the middle of the night so it is waiting for them in the refrigerator in the morning. Then they just have to pop it in the crockpot or oven. There's so much thought around feeding the baby, sometimes new parents forget to take care of themselves. It's like the directions they give on the airplane... you need to take care of yourself so you're able...
Itโs Day 10 of your Baby Prep Advent ๐ And todayโs gift is one of those simple setups that makes the early weeks with a newborn feel much more manageable. Diaper changes happen all day and all night, which is why having a changing station on each floor can be so helpful. You'll be so glad to have what you need, where you need it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ๐ YOUR DAY 10 GIFT: The Changing Station This checklist walks you through exactly...
